Commentary | Simple composition: Sancho sat at his table and surrounded by Pedro Recio (right), who points to the dishes that must be taken away, and other servants.
Three little pages take the dishes away. Pedro Recio's figure is remarkable too (as a 18th century English physician). Drawing and engraving are quite acceptable. |
Notes | 1 - Copy after the illustration designed by Stothard for London: William Miller, 1801.
2 - Ridley's signature as "Ridley Pr." (in other illus. "Ridley P.") maybe refers not to the engraver, but to the printer. |
